Cheesy Onion Stuffed BunsToday I baked some savory stuffed buns for Nehal. Turned out very well and will definitely try them again with a different stuffing. |
Simple Chocolate CakeNehal’s friend is spending this afternoon with us at our home. The kids love cake and Nehal insisted on me baking a chocolate cake. After lunch, baked a simple chocolate cake with plain chocolate icing. |
Chicken Kathi RollNehal has skating classes, 6 days a week in the evenings. I pack some snack for him so that he can eat after his class, on our way back home. I usually pack a sandwich but at times I prepare roti rolls with different fillings. I made Chicken Kathi Roll last evening. Green chutney is required for this recipe. |
Crispy Fried ChickenI prepare three variations of crispy chicken and today’s recipe is a version that has buttermilk as a marinade. Simple to prepare but does take atleast 12 hours for marination before frying the chicken legs. Marination is the key as well as cooking the chicken legs over moderate heat. |
Nutty Tutti Frutti BunsAlong with the pizza base, I also made sweet tutti frutti buns with the left over basic bread dough. Nehal relished these buns while visiting a friend’s home and now these sweet buns are part of my regular baking. He takes them to school as a snack. Sweet buns stuffed with tutti frutti, raisins, nuts and topped with a cherry and granulated sugar are incredibly light and soft. |
Homemade PizzaI enjoy baking in the winter season. The warmth and aroma of bread baking is soothing and comforting Yesterday, I baked two loaves of bread and used the left over dough to prepare pizza bases and tutti frutti buns. |
Jam TartsJam tarts are an easy, fruity and delicious dessert. My weekend fun activity with Nehal was preparing jam tarts. Though it was a bit of mess, Nehal helped in cutting out the dough into rounds, cutting thin strips of the dough, spooning jam and placing criss cross pattern over the jam tarts. |
