This recipe is long overdue. For Christmas I had prepared a Zebra cake following Farida’s step by step zebra cake pictorial. An impressive cake that turned out delicious.

Last week, I made this Orange Pound cake. Nehal and his friend enjoyed it over a cup of hot chocolate while we adults enjoyed it over a cup of chai. Lovely cake!

With a subtle taste of lemon, this cake is to die for. All of us at home enjoy this cake. Its especially good with a lemon glaze. I ran out of icing sugar, so had to make do with a few tbsps of icing sugar and lemon juice to prepare a light lemon glaze that I poured over the warm cake, its hardly visible though.

Over the weekend, I made Banana bread. Lovely recipe! The golden crust has a delicious crispness to it and bread is wonderfully moist and soft. One of my favorite Banana Bread recipe. And its super quick to bring together.

Made chocolate cupcakes on Friday afternoon. Nehal is a chocolate cake fan. His face beamed to the smell of baking as he entered the home from school. He knew Amma was preparing his favorite cupcakes she promised him as he left for school.

The light drizzle outside and a cool breeze made me want to bake. Decided on baking chocolate cupcakes which happen to be Nehal’s favorite. Within half an hour of entering the kitchen, I was done with warm chocolate-y cupcakes that I served with milk for Nehal’s breakfast.

This afternoon, I baked. Nehal wanted to eat something chocolatey. So I decided on baking chocolate and coconut slice. Yummy!!

Nehal’s friend is spending this afternoon with us at our home. The kids love cake and Nehal insisted on me baking a chocolate cake. After lunch, baked a simple chocolate cake with plain chocolate icing.

Another quick breakfast recipe which also makes a good snack to take to school are these cheesy chicken bread triangles. The only prior preparation required is boiled chicken and you have quick snack to whip up.
