Here’s how Nehal enjoys his vegetable burger that I serve for brunch or as an evening tiffin.

One of my most favorite childhood food memories is Bread and Jam. Remember those days? Nehal is also fond of bread and Kissan mixed fruit jam. When I am absolutely rushed for time to pack Nehal’s snack for school, my savior is ‘you know what’.

One of my favorite and frequently used kitchen tool is a stove top sandwich toaster. My mother used it during our growing years to prepare tasty sandwiches for us. Its very useful and takes less than 2-3 mts to make a nice toasted sandwich provided you have the filling ready. Nehal wanted me to pack a sandwich for his school snack.

Chinese sesame toast is a quick fix calcium rich breakfast and school snack. The only preparatory work – boil potatoes.

Another favorite of Nehal’s is bread pizza. He usually has a slice of bread pizza for breakfast and takes a slice of bread pizza with a different topping for his school snack. To make it healthy, I use brown bread.

Today I baked some savory stuffed buns for Nehal. Turned out very well and will definitely try them again with a different stuffing.

Another quick breakfast recipe which also makes a good snack to take to school are these cheesy chicken bread triangles. The only prior preparation required is boiled chicken and you have quick snack to whip up.

Along with the pizza base, I also made sweet tutti frutti buns with the left over basic bread dough. Nehal relished these buns while visiting a friend’s home and now these sweet buns are part of my regular baking. He takes them to school as a snack. Sweet buns stuffed with tutti frutti, raisins, nuts and topped with a cherry and granulated sugar are incredibly light and soft.
