Rani, invest in an OTG (Oven/Toaster/Grill), it works very good for the Indian Kitchen. You can bake cakes, and grill chicken, pizzas etc. I use Morphy Richards brand.

  17. I live in India.

  19. Hi Sailu,

I dont know what went wrong for me but the cake didnt rise and the sides turned brown but the top was very light in color. I knew right then that something was wrong. The only change I made was that I baked at 325 deg F instead of 350 deg F as stated in your recipe. The reason I reduced the temp was because I used a non stick pan, do you think that caused the cake to not rise?

Next time follow the oven temp according to the recipe and use good quality baking pwd. Place baking vessel in the middle rack of the oven.

  20. Hi Sailu,

    Mrudula.

  21. Yes, you can use vanilla extract in place of vanilla essence.

You have got a very wonderful site, with so mouthwatering recipes! That too a place with full of yummy recipes, just for kids?! Ohh, I just love it! :) Thanks for sharing all the recipes.

While I was checking for some kids recipes, I found this yummy cake recipe today. The picture looks so awesome and am sure my kids would love it.

I have only one question/doubt though.
Can I use my Bread machine to bake this cake?!
If yes, should I be mixing and preparing the batter outside and use the bread machine for baking alone? OR Can I put all the ingredients and let the BM do the kneading & baking?
Please let me know. Thanks in advance.
