Nehal’s Birthday Ben 10 Theme Party

I have received requests to post pictures of Nehal’s birthday party. I am posting a few photos of Nehal’s 6th birthday Ben 10 theme party we celebrated in August, 2008.

The images used in the invitation and thank you cards were downloaded from the internet. I designed the cards and the printer did a great job. For the thank you card, Ben Tennyson’s face was replaced with Nehal’s, thanks to Photoshop. :)

Boys & Girls take home gifts

The Ben 10 dinner plates, glasses, stickers, badges, blow outs were shipped from US by my sister who ordered them online from this store. There were different take home gifts for the girls and boys. The remaining gifts were bought in Vizag.

The Ben 10 table cover was also shipped from US along with take home gifts. The highlight was a large digital print, 4 ft by 5 1/2 ft, of Ben 10 with his team (downloaded the image from internet) that was framed and put up on the wall close to the cake table. The Ben 10 alien figures were painted on 4 ft plastic sheets that were pasted along the walls of the hall.

Ghost Freak & Rip Jaws

Grey Matter & Heat Blast

Stink Fly

Upgrade & XLR8

Wild Mutt

Both the cakes were ordered at a local baker. The one below was made with an edible Ben 10 foil.

It was a party for over 125 people with 50 kids and 75 adults and we arranged at a hotel which served good food. The party started at 6 and ended at 10. I arranged a tattoo trap and beauty corner (for the little girls). My friend did the emceeing and conducted games both for adults and kids (individual and team games) which were fun. The decorations were yellow and green balloons and the chef tried to follow a green and yellow theme food-wise. :) There was ballooning too (swords, flowers and poodle).

The menu was as follows:
1. Welcome drink – fruit based
2. 4 appetizers – 2 veg + 2 non-veg – [kids & adults just loved all of them]
a) Spinach and Cheese dumplings
b) Vegetable lollipops
c) Chicken Winglets – Chinese style
d) Crispy Prawn – Chinese style
3. Chaat Counter
Bhel Puri, Papdi Chaat, Pani Puri
4. Live Dosa Counter
Masala Dosa and Plain Dosas (3 chutneys and potato curry)
5. Vegetable Hakka Noodles
6. Vegetable Manchurian in Hot Garlic Sauce
7. Curd Rice (with a couple of pickles, papad and sun-dried chillis) (on special request from two parents whose kids don’t eat much food outside their home and they requested for curd rice)
8. Desserts – Ice cream with Hot chocolate Sauce & Hot Jalebis (live counter) and of course the bday cake.:)

    Thank you, Aparna.
I started about a month before the birthday. Well, Nehal insisted on a Ben 10 theme and I couldn’t say ‘No’. It was a challenge as its the first time I did a theme party and that too ‘Ben 10′. Luckily things turned out well. :)

  3. What website did you download the pictures from? My son wants a Ben 10 birthday party too so I would love to print out those pictures.

Unfortunately, I do not remember the website. You could go to http://www.photobucket.com and search for Ben 10 images.

  4. Hi…
Great stuff…I’m in the process of preparing for a Ben 10 party myself.
Planning to make most of the decorations at home and of course fill the house with green and yellow balloons. Thanks for all the wonderful ideas…and u are a terrific mom for taking all the effort!!!!! Keep up the good work.

Your most welcome and hope you have a rocking b’day party. Advance b’day wishes to your son.

  5. AMAZING! I am planning a Ben 10 party, but certainly don’t have the budget you were working with. But the details will come in VERY handy! Thanks so much for sharing. By the way, how much did all of it cost?
    Thanks!!

Your welcome. :) Btw, I live in India in case you aren’t aware. The costs might vary in other countries. You can email me at sailusfood [at] gmail [dot] com.

  6. Hi,
Superb! Great decoration and great party. Happy birthday to your son and Congratulations to you for doing such an awesome job.

Where in Vizag did you get the cutouts done? Didn’t know they do such great work in Vizag too. Also who made the cake and can you give me the number of the artist team. I live in US and am planning to do my son’s first birthday in Vizag. I talked to my parents recently about a theme party and they said, no all those things are not available here… you know how parents are… But, your pictures are like my dreams in action. Although I will be doing a different theme. Any information would be great.
    Thank you for sharing.

Your most welcome. Thank you for your nice words and b’day wishes for my son, Lakshmi.
The cutouts were done by Kalki Arts which is situated opposite Eenadu office. Ordered the cake at Bagels, situated next to Cafe Day. You can email me at sailusfood [at] gmail [dot] com.

Deepa, I designed the card and got it printed at a local printer at Vizag.
